1930
Sunshine Bakeries – Singapore’s oldest Bakery - has its humble beginnings as a small business operating from a shop-house in Geylang before being acquired by Singapore Cold Storage (SCS). Product distribution were extended throughout Singapore and Malaya then.
1948
Began fortifying breads with vitamins
1950
Had introduced 14 different types of bread, in addition to and increased range of confectionary and self-raising flour.
1962
Launched the new look for Sunshine Bread in bright yellow and orange packaging and was renamed Sunshine Bakeries
1965
Crown its first brand ambassador Miss Sunshine who became a familia icon for the brand, marking the start of Sunshine’s concerted brand building efforts in the market place.
1981
Sunshine changed its wax paper packaging to plastic, improving both hygiene and bread keeping quality.
1992
Relocation of baking facilities to the current Senoko Plant, increasing its manufacturing capacity and becoming the largest production plant in Asia then, producing 6,000 loaves an hour
2000
Attained ISO: 14001 certification for its environmental management system
2001
Sunshine attained its first Healthier Choice Bread loaf, HACCP Certification for quality management.
2004
Sunshine was awarded Superbrand Status!
2005
Sunshine Bakeries turns 75 and was awarded SPBA (Singapore Promising Brand Award) Heritage Brand Award in recognition of its success as one of Singapore’s most enduring brands.
2008
First to introduce a full range of Healthier Choice Wholemeal Cream Buns and has since become Singapore’s No.1 Wholemeal Cream Buns
2010
In line with HPB’s latest Wholegrains Campaign, Sunshine launched new Higher in Whole-grains Healtheir Choice bread loaves. Also introduced prebiotic cream rolls.
2011
Awarded Gold for Bread Category under Food & beverage in Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand 2011. Extended Popular cream roll range with new Higher in Whole-grains Healtheir Choice cream rolls.
2013
Sunshine voted as No.1 choice by Singapore Women! and was awarded Women’s Weekly “Domestic Diva”
2016
First to launch Smart-Carb® Low Glycemic Index (GI) Bread with the lowest GI index of 37 in Singapore

Introduced a new premium Hokkaido Milk Toast Bread and 100% Whole Grains Ultra Fine Wholemeal Bread
